Discover the Friends of St James and the Seventh Form

The Friends of St James are made up of a fantastic team of parent volunteers from each school, supported by the St James Schools’ Development Office.

We plan the social calendar of events for our schools, helping grow a strong and close community, as well as raising money for the schools, the St James Bursary Fund and the schools’ chosen charities.

In recent years we have held a series of social events, including Quiz Nights, Film Nights, Christmas Markets, formal balls. The Friends of St James support the schools by offering their experience and enthusiasm to organise our social events and raise funds.

These funds are reinvested in the schools by purchasing extra equipment, to help the pupils and the schools where needed. We also raise money for the St James Bursary Fund, helping all children to benefit from a St James education, no matter what their circumstances may be.

Each of our classes has two Parent Class Coordinators (PCCs) and we meet termly to plan upcoming events either in person or online. They are open, informal get-togethers and usually involve a drink or two! The invaluable help offered, however small, enables us to reach out to everyone socially, which is important as our pupils grow up so quickly and become independent. The support they experience from our families in the school community is valuable and to be treasured.

About St James Schools

St James Schools offers a distinctive approach to education which provides for the intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of every child.

Founded in 1975 by philosophically inclined parents, our three independent day schools offer a distinctive approach to education which provides for the intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of every child; they aim to provide an environment in which a child can discover all that is best within their own nature.

St James Schools offers an education which draws out and magnifies the unique talents inherent in every child. We provide a loving and caring environment based on integrity, mutual trust, respect and understanding, and seek to enrich the intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of all its pupils.

Each pupil is treated as an individual and is supported within an environment which develops a love of learning, awareness and consideration of the needs of others, and the talents, strength, wisdom and moral tenacity to offer themselves in a spirit of unselfish generosity for the benefit of humanity.
