Last year we ran an evening where parents were invited into school to have a lesson with one of our staff members which proved to be incredibly popular! This year, we are excited to open it to alumni as well. The event is designed to give you an insight into some of the latest developments in teaching and learning and the opportunity to enjoy a ‘lesson’ taught by one of our teachers, as well as enjoying some food and drink! This year our staff will be giving you a taste of an A Level lesson (other than Food Preparation and Nutrition as this is only taught at GCSE) and the staff who will be taking these lessons, along with the title of their lessons, are:  

• Physics - ‘The one with washing up liquid and magnets’ - Mr Young  
• English - ‘A close reading of a poem by Carol Ann Duffy from her ‘Meantime’ collection’ - Mrs McIntyre 
• History - ‘Women & British Fascism: a historical puzzle’ - Dr Craven  
• Food Preparation and Nutrition - 'Understanding the Science of Cooking Proteins (theory)’ - Mr Bradley 
• Maths - ‘Binomial Expansion: how many ways can you choose something from a collection of things?’ - Ms Basma 
• Geography - ‘The use of GIS (mapping data) to explain trends and patterns in the urban population of London’ - Mr Horsford 
• French - ‘Introduction au film de Jean-Pierre Jeunet - un long dimanche de fiançailles:' (some prior French speaking recommended!) - Ms Chaudagne 
• Hinduism - ‘The Most Sacred Mantra’ - Mr Jessup 
• Psychology – ‘Deferred Gratification’ - Ms Lisle 

The evening will begin with a drinks reception at 6.00pm before proceeding to the main event at 6.30pm. Dinner will be served from 7:30pm. The evening will conclude no later than 8.45pm. If you would like to attend, please register and purchase your tickets by Friday 26th January. 

Tickets are £20, including a meal, drinks and the activities. Funds raised will go to the Senior Girls' School. 

Once you have purchased your tickets, please fill in the Choices Form and select your subject (we ask for a first and second choice as if we have the numbers we may be able to offer you two lessons!)
